We were involved in creating the concrete bases which formed the foundations for the climbing poles as part of the new monkey enclosure at Chester Zoo.
The telescopic reach of the Schwing 31HT Truck Mounted Concrete Pump was ideal as it allowed us to extend much further into the monkey enclosure whilst working in a very limited space.
Without the additional length of the 4.6m gained by the telescopic, we essentially had a 24X which wouldn’t have been ideal, due to the site conditions.
On this particular project, we had a deep void positioned awkwardly 18m from the front of the cab. This would have been, almost, exactly where the end of the boom on a 24m would have reached, however, we needed to, ideally, reach further, to miss the void.
The telescopic, with its telescopic feature, allowed us to extend, quite comfortably, over the void, enabling us to lower the end section of the boom down the embankment to the lower ground level and easily gain access to the bases that required pouring.
