Polymer-modified, self-levelling concrete has high flow characteristics and, unlike conventional concrete does not need large amounts of water for placement. Typically, it is used to create a flat, smooth surface with a compressive strength similar, or higher to that of traditional concrete, prior to the installation of interior floor coverings.
Self-levelling concrete has become increasingly popular in recent years as the degree of flatness and smoothness needed by floor coverings has increased, particularly as vinyl flooring has become thinner and floor tiles larger. This form of concrete is much less labour intensive to lay, compared to traditional concrete.
